PriceSmart Announces October Sales; Opening of New Warehouse Club in Nicaragua Also Announced


/EINPresswire.com/ -- SAN DIEGO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 11/06/15 -- PriceSmart, Inc. (NASDAQ: PSMT) today announced that for the month of October 2015, net warehouse club sales increased 12.9% to $233.4 million from $206.7 million in October a year earlier. For the two months ended October 31, 2015, net warehouse club sales increased 12.7% to $449.9 million from $399.2 million for the two months ended October 31, 2014. There were 37 warehouse clubs in operation at the end of October 2015 and 34 warehouse clubs in operation at the end of October 2014.

For the four weeks ended October 25, 2015, comparable warehouse sales for the 33 warehouse clubs open at least 13 1/2 full months increased 3.2%, compared to the same four-week period last year. For the eight-week period ended October 25, 2015, comparable warehouse sales increased 3.2%, compared to the same eight-week period a year ago.

The Company also announced that on November 5, 2015, the Company successfully opened its new warehouse club in Managua, Nicaragua, bringing to 38 the total number of warehouse clubs in operation by the Company. This warehouse club is the Company's second warehouse club in Managua, Nicaragua.
