Brazilian Banks, Gold Miners Populate Friday's 52-Week Low Club

June 15, 2018: Here are four stocks trading with heavy volume among 85 equities making new 52-week lows in Friday’s session. On the NYSE decliners led advancers by about 1.15 to 1 and on the Nasdaq, decliners led advancers by about 1.03 to 1.

Banco Bradesco SA (NYSE: BBD) traded down about 1.9% Friday and posted a new 52-week low of $6.56 after closing Thursday at $6.69. The stock’s 52-week high is $13.18. Volume totaled nearly 15 million, about 50% above the daily average of around  10.7 million. The Brazilian bank had no specific news, and shares look set to close up about 2.5%.

Itaú Unibanco Holding SA (NYSE: ITUB) traded down about 1.5% Friday to post a new 52-week low of $9.95 after closing Thursday at $10.10. The stock’s 52-week high is $16.98. Volume was nearly 25% above the daily average of around 10.9 million shares. This Brazilian bank also had no specific news. Shares are on track to post a gain for the day of around 2.5%.

Harmony Gold Mining Co. (NYSE: HMY) fell 2.6% Friday to post a new 52-week low of $1.52. Shares closed at $1.56 yesterday. The 52-week high is $2.53. Volume of around 7.5 million was around 65% higher than the daily average of about 4.5 million. The company had no specific news.

New Gold Inc. (NYSE: NGD) dropped about 4.7% Friday to post a new 52-week low of $2.05. Shares closed at $2.15 on Thursday and the stock’s 52-week high is $4.25. Volume was about 50% higher than the daily average of 4.2 million. The junior gold miner had no specific news.
