Multistate Serial Bank Robber Sentenced for Robberies in California, Nevada, and Utah

A 28-year-old man was sentenced by a U.S. District to five years and three months in federal prison, to be followed by three years of supervised release, for robbing three banks including one in Reno, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

According to court documents, Gregory Jerome Brown, of Bountiful, Utah, robbed three banks in three different states.

Brown wrote his demands on index cards, and in two instances, Nevada and Utah, he threatened tellers in demand notes with a gun. After the robberies, Brown rode away on his motorcycle. After the Utah bank robbery, Brown fled south and was apprehended in Phoenix, Arizona.

At his guilty plea, Brown admitted that he robbed the following banks:

This case was the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with assistance from the Auburn Police Department, the Reno Police Department, the Saint George Police Department, and the Pleasant Grove Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Michelle Rodriguez prosecuted the case.
